Steps to Great Success

Imagine a butterfly. What a feeling to spread your wings and fly through life!

I have made MAJOR changes in the past few years regarding my business, my personal life, my language, my thoughts… and have spent a great deal of time regrouping on my life long desires. It is as if I have crawled out of a cocoon and my wings are flapping in the fresh air just like a beautiful monarch butterfly. Read more if you like on my website at www.sheryllynn.com.

Experiencing any kind of success, and a great deal of success at that, is knowing all along that the colorful rays of light eventually will warm your whole being.

In my opinion great success is simply about taking new steps everyday in a forward motion. And in the analogy of a butterfly, fluttering your wings as best you can until you can fly. As you reinvent yourself, fail, grow, do it over, fail again, you cannot help but eventually succeed sometime along the way. It is inevitable. Success is less frequent than the setbacks, but it is oh so sweet when it comes. The question then becomes, what are you doing on a daily basis to move yourself forward everyday toward all the things make you tick. Are you kind enough to yourself, allowing yourself the freedom of knowing that if you want something badly enough- it will show up…eventually.

Here are a few suggestions for spreading your wings.

  • Only say out loud what you really want.

Your language has more weight than you think. Do NOT give any time, energy, thought and especially spoken vocabulary to that which is hard, not working or a headache. Long ago I gave up words like; someday, I might, I can’t afford this, what if…etc. Instead, speak words of success, prosperity, knowing and believing in your purpose.

  • Live audaciously

And so what will everyone else think? I know this is a major concern for most people I know. Between what to wear, the kind of car that you drive and the bad business decision made 10 years ago…(I could go on and on you know) there is plenty of reason to live carefully, fearfully, cautiously. Audacious living on the other hand is living in adventure, fearless, boldly and daring. When you are this person, others watch, listen, and learn from you. Give others a reason to be inspired by YOU and give up on what everyone else thinks, they really don’t care all that much anyway.

  • Be efficient everyday

Do you find yourself traveling quickly through everyday and then flopping on the bed at night, usually before 10 P.M feeling exhausted and wondering how you will ever get up and do it all over again the next day? However if your minutes and hours are spent doing what you are doing with focus and attention, and doing it solely with the end result only to be a success your final outcome will send you soaring each day. You see, you will NEVER get it all done. There will always be more. Relax. Focus. Take a few timeouts during the day and get clear again on what can you do in the moment to be completely efficient. It adds up you know, surely as 2+2 equals 4.

There you have it, tiny steps, little life flutters that cause a ripple around the world. You have heard of the butterfly effect right? Set yourself up for great success and bask in the sunlight everyday, even if just for a moment, to celebrate whatever tiny bit of success comes to you each day. Finally, get ready for the big successes to come your way. Just get ready o.k?

Celebrating Children

freedom.jpg Topic today, CELEBRATING CHILDREN! It has been an interesting summer with traveling to Merrill, WI to gather up my two younger children and making the trip back to Florida. We did enjoy seeing all of our family, visiting the fair and playing in the cool northern outdoors. They GREW so much in only two months time and oh my, their young “lady - ness” (is that a word?) is heating up. This fall they will be first timers at a preforming arts middle school in Jacksonville, Florida. They are fine tuning talents for their own life journey ahead.

My oldest daughter is traveling abroad in Ecuador currently and staying in Quinto. She is only 19 years old and working on being free enough to begin to see all that the world has to offer. Her dream is to live in Europe. My own dream is coming true soon as well. After years of not being with her because of divorce – she is looking to land at our home for a while in here in Florida. I cannot wait to be with her and have our family back in touch after so long. It feels good to look at all of them in the eyes and tell them how very happy I am to be their mother.

Side NOTE: I was reflecting today about house cleaning and children. It has been 19 years since I have taken on the task of having babies. 19 years of laundry and cooking and cleaning. 19 years of emotional, physical and ….well mostly physical endurance of the ups and downs of parenthood. I let my body go for a long time, became stressed with fear of how to keep it all together, angry sometimes that I felt so alone in it all, you know… the “why me” attitude. So even though my children are getting older and they do help out with house cleaning, (of course with gentle prodding), I still enjoy the smudges on the light switches, the piles of attempted laundry, crumbs left on the table after dinner has been long cleaned up and yes, even the toothpaste in the sink.

The picture is my oldest daughter’s permanently tatooed foot – I think it sums what she feels is important – and I concur – having the freedom to wake up everyday and enjoy children and all that comes with it – is a huge gift to celebrate.

What about you? Where are the children in your life today and what are you celebrating them for?

Trace minerals in water?

Have you been taking your trace minerals lately? Recently my partner, Mike Robinson met with Dr. Darrin Starkey who did an experiment, (which I got to watch via a CD) and it just blew me away. I knew trace minerals were a good idea for us as humans to consume as it is nearly impossible to eat all the required nutrients to maintain our healthy bodies. Did you know that it is estimated that some 90% of us suffer from a mineral deficiency or imbalance. Not a surprise – look at all the disease that plaques us, especially in the western culture.

To make a long story short – eating a balanced diet to get an adequate supply of fruits and vegetables (not to mention getting the children to partake) is a thing of the past – According to Dr. Starkey and www.traceminerals.com, it is said that in today’s world, naturally occurring, nutrient-rich foods are becoming a thing of the past. Eons of vegetation growth and aggressive modern farming techniques have brought many of the earth’s minerals to the surface where they have been washed away to the oceans.

The experiment? Dr. Starkey put an open electrical circuit in a vile of trace minerals (trace minerals found in the salt water seas) and the light bulb it was connected to lit up brilliantly. This active and essential product must be consumed to keep our body alive, healthy and replenished.

Questions? I had many too! For answers, visit this site.  I consume 40 drops a day, mixed with my two liters of water to make sure I am getting an ample supply of what my body needs. Want to hear the best part? My children watched the CD and are also taking the drops because they too see the value of trace minerals! Yeah! I am thankful to Mike for being in the health and nutrition business and for sharing such valuable information with us.

Mindful Voice – I am open to new ideas and love sit ups!

The Secret Language of Feelings

Recently I was turned onto a book called, The Secret Language of Feelings by Calvin D. Banyan. The whole curiousness I have had around why I feel this way or that, or why I beat myself up when I feel scared, frustrated, inadequate, guilty or sad was satisfied. secret feelings coaching banyan emotionsFeelings that have held me back were clearly explained and a process was outlined which I could implement immediately about how to start acknowledging my feelings now. I picked up this book used at Amazon for $12.98.

The first thing that I learned is that all feelings are good. We only feel bad when we don’t take the time to understand the feelings that vibrate within us. The book explains each feeling, gives them names and a clear concise way to deal with our feelings logically, quickly and efficiently so that we can quickly move on. One little issue that may arise during the day may send a ripple of fear through me, halting me in my tracks and debilitating me for hours or days, or in the past, for years. Once you hear the words in the book and understand that our feelings are our built-in guidance system, nature’s way of letting us know which of our needs aren’t being fulfilled and creating a motivation to take an action to do something, you begin to be grateful for the not so good feelings. Feelings left ignored, give free rein to frustration, stress and eventually depression.

The author gives us three step process to coach ourselves.

  1. Identify/name the feeling.
  2. Identify the cause of the feeling. What is the unfilled need, want or desire.
  3. Identify a satisfying response, that is, an action that fulfills the need want to desire.

Pick up the book or email me at sheryl@womencelebrations.com an I will coach you through a feeling that is holding you back. Just tell me what is going on in a few sentences. Describe the feeling the best you can and name the cause of this feeling.

Celebrate Good Times…c’mon!

What a spectacular 4th of JULY celebration this 2007! It was a real
CELEBRATION here in Jacksonville, Florida as so many people were out and about. Last week I tried my hand at making a few red, white and blue hula hoops for the celebration in anticipation for the new creation of our CIRCLE OF POWER HOOPS that we are making for our LOOPS. The red, white and blue hoops turned out beautiful and they were fun too. I learned a few tricks of which I searched out on YouTube. The basics of raising the tube over head and back down again… and around the knees and behind the back were actually pretty easy. The new OPRAH magazine had a great tip for me as I headed out on July 4th fireworks and to the Jacksonville Landing to share my new talent…the story line was this; Be AUDACIOUS! What the heck!…people love to see you being you and having fun. Others flock to you when you are being your true authentic self. So I was a hooping maniac and others loved to watch and try. FUN! Let’s hear about your 4th.

One More Blog On Paris Hilton!

One more blog on Paris Hilton: I can’t help but appreciate the interview Ms.
Paris Hilton did last night with Larry King Live. I noticed that the media
wanted to pick her apart and rip into every single one of her comments. All
I know and can say is that Paris is a human being; someone who makes
mistakes, everyday, just like you and I. Is she perfect? NOPE and far from it.
In fact she is far from perfect just like you, just like me. I feel that
this is what makes the entire world drawn to her. Paris is a regular person
with a billioniare background of family history - do we fault her for this?
NOPE! I think we might wish we were in her shoes - sometimes, walking down
the runway in New York City, or producing the SIMPLE LIFE, while creating
perfumes and bags and doggy clothes. I stand by any woman who can make
mistakes - admit mistakes, learn from mistakes and use the mistakes to begin
again!

Celebrate! Celebrate! Celebrate!

Yes, I am celebrating that I have been gone from the internet for over a
week and 1/2 - AND I am still alive and surviving. In fact the brief
separation fromGOOGLE, from email, from business questions and interaction left me with extra time to plan, prioritize and prepare from a wild last 1/2 of the year. More to come on this, yes please stay tuned. Let me just share with you though, that our family has successfully made the long awaited journey to Jacksonville, Florida from St. Augustine, Florida.
All the trucks have gone, the refrigerator is restocked and the second set of
empty boxes is ready to be put out on the curb. It feels good to be settled
again in our new home. Everyone that helped out, Jewell Kutzer, the
Mayberry Momma
, Michael Hunt, First Coast Hypnosis, Win Kelly from The Beach Cottages, John Saults, Debbie Walsh from Creative Memories - AND TO EVERYONE who sent well wishes - I am SO grateful. All of these support was so instrumental in providing assistance in our move! We are near the airport in Jacksonville, Florida, in a quiet subdivision and only 8 miles from our daughter’s new school. We couldn’t be more pleased. We are sitting back today, celebrating and appreciating all the time we spent quietly
visualizing our new home, all the while knowing without fear and doubt that
all of our positive thoughts and “thinking stuff” (per the Science of
Getting Rich
” ) would create a perfect move!

I am happy to back online and am eagerly waiting to hear from you - please
take a few minutes and tell me what has been going on with you so far this
summer of 2007!

It Works!

I am feeling great and losing inches. I ask myself what I am contributing this incredible mindful voice to about taking care of myself physically, and it positively seems like there is an alignment of so many things…finally being awake to what my body needs to function at its best, that my body is the house of Sheryl Lynn who has so much celebrating of life to do and simply can only do that with the right weight and the right energy! I am thankful for Michael Hunt’s Hypnotic Techniques, My Honey’s cooking, IT WORKS!, which is a new body wrap that tightens skin, my understanding of how and what to eat to keep me out of the bag of chips, Tia and her blogging so as to keep myself accountable with these blogs, Florida weather that gets me out to enjoy sunshine and fresh air while walking – finally, I AM gracious for my own patience to never give up on myself – knowing that if I could keep asking questions, looking for answers, that I would find them begin to release this weight back to the universe! Good for me for keeping ON!
